The Féminine Knowledge Worker
So I hear my professor say: “And a woman has to take maternity leave; she, more or less takes at least 2 years off & some never come back. Maternity makes them a less consternated member, they want to leave soon, need more leaves & vacations & half of their minds are always with the children…. They never make the proper worker they were before.
Therefore, take in mind when interviewing a lady for a job that she will not be there long enough for you…”
I hear him say that. & I hear him say a lot more points that are very useful. He says a lot about Organizational Behavior & the differences between men & women. Some precisely right, some needs a lot of attention & some has to be checked over. He is very famous & I enjoy his lessons but his personal view on women is not what I can accept.
He, however, pinpoints a lot of new aspects in old ‘culture’ that brings some fairness in… he insists that if ‘your wife asks you t raise her salary, it’s your responsibility. You have to work hard, drain yourself & meet her needs…. She has the right to ask for more…. & you don’t have the right to say ‘I can’t’. If you can’t give her what she wants then she has the right to get it herself & you don’t have the right to stop her. Instead, ask her for love & mercy… that’s what a woman is made for… to be the source of love & happiness”
I still have some points to tell my Prof. He has to know that nowadays, with the use of IT, a Féminine knowledge worker can stay home, take care of children & the love & be on top of the game. IT is the answer to every bump & bend for the woman… with networks & telecommunicating a woman can break the ‘glass roof’ & reach the top. As you said, women have nothing less than men… they are talented, with high-IQs & they have the power to outdo any man when it comes to details.
We’re gonna make it through!
